  • How to Select Materials and Methods of Installation for Tile Floors

    Our easy-to-use, Quick Reference Chart makes material and method selection a simple process for any job. First, review the Performance Level Rating Definitions listed below. Using the Suggested Performance Selector Table, note the Performance Level Rating category number that most closely matches your requirement.

    Performance Level Rating Definitions:

    1. Residential: Use in private homes or multiple family dwellings.

    2. Light Commercial: Use in light commercial areas, such as offices, reception areas, etc. and for residential use in premium or high-traffic installations.

    3. Commercial/Light Institutional: Restaurants, stores, public walkways, commercial bathrooms, etc.

    4. Heavy Commercial: Institutional bathrooms, shopping malls, commercial kitchens, exterior decks and walkways on grade, hospital operating rooms, light work areas, laboratories, light shipping and receiving, etc.

    5. Extra Heavy Duty: For commercial use and high-impact service areas such as food plants, bottling plants, breweries, dairies, roof decks, institutional kitchens, industrial work areas, etc.
